As the oldest son in his family with another 4 younger siblings he just have this habit of wanting to take care of people and worrying about them.

He knows when someone is feeling down even though he is bad at comforting anyone and he'll get sentimental sometimes and became quiet all of a sudden.

He eats a lot but then since he worked out so he doesn't get plumpy easy.

History :
Tohru comes from quite a medium size family with total of 7 members in it. His parents are always busy as they run a family restaurant so that leaves him no choice but to be independant and as well as taking care of his younger siblings.
He met this one girl when they were both still in kindergarten and befriended each other really quick despite normally girls and boys doesn't get along well-- As they grow up together in which they support each other... The girl doesn't have any siblings and thus will always helping out taking care of his siblings and play with them as well.
And days turn to month and to years, Tohru finally confessed one day and they became officially couple-- But things just doesn't go the way they want as an accident take her away from him forever... He fell in despair for quite a long time but with the support from his family, he finally pull through and assume to his normal life.

Tohru choosed to go all the way to Okinawa for his high school mainly is because he thought of leaving the place full of memories and in search for new ones and then to look around the world in her place since that was her wish--
